Anyway, after dragging the Editorial, I then had to
wait 10 seconds for the program to unpack or degarble (or
whatever) the file. Trying other articles took even
longer, as graphics were loaded in. Some articles change
the mode to 15, and this slows down the whole process even
more.
The articles themselves were a mixed bunch on a wide
range of topics, but seemed a little thin on the ground
(and I was looking at issue 5!).
In fact if you take out the editorials, the help files
the articles about how to write articles, the free ads and
the credits etc... you end up with well er... not that
many articles really.
Well actually, there are two very good articles that
have obviously been put together by people with a sound
knowledge of computing. The first of these , about desktop
programming, is a running column teaching the reader how
to program in the desktop. Not an original idea (it has
been done by some of the printed Archie magazines) but
none the less, a good one.
